Happy St. Patrick's Day!

Happy St. Patrick's Day, guys! I hope your day has been going well. My day has been pretty good so far.

For breakfast, we had special pistachio shamrock waffles. The waffles were a light green color, and really yummy!

While I was finishing up my breakfast, I spotted this little trail of green and gold sparklies leading out the door. I put on some shoes and a jacket and decided to follow it.

When I walked outside, I saw more sparklies.

They led across the porch...

...And down onto the next step.

I followed the little trail down the steps. The sparklies seemed to lead into the bushes.

The little trail of sparklies led down onto the last step.

As I followed the trail, I spot a small black object amongst the green and gold.

As I got closer, the object became clearer.

HOLY. GUACAMOLE.

"KNICKERS AND NACHOS! IT'S A LEPRECHAUN SHOE!" I exclaimed.

The little shoe sat in a pile of green glitter and gold coins.

At first, (though I wanted to) I didn't really believe a Leprechaun had left it's little boot behind, especially since all of the glitter and gold and sparklies were a little too clichéd. But when I asked Skye and the other girls at the Midcoast MTTB about it, none of them knew what I was talking about. Granted, they could have been lying, but when you're friends with a bunch of time travelers, anything's possible, right?
How was your St. Patrick's Day? Were you visited by any little Irish creatures?

Saoirse's Visit, Part 2: Outdoor Adventures

After the craziness of the previous day's events, Saoirse and I were still able to get some good playtime in. Though it had been snowing the day before, the sun showed up the next day. Any snow that was left melted away, leaving a dry, grassy yard and woods to play in!

Saoirse and I took our dolls outside, too! We played on the swingset first.

The slide was long and wavy, but super fast!

After swinging and sliding, we decided to go explore the woods.

We climbed up the rock wall barrier...

...Until we arrived safely on the other side, beginning out journey into the wilderness.

We decided the journey was too dangerous for our little dolls, so we left them behind near the rock wall, safe and sound.

Saoirse and I first encountered a lava sea, in which the only way to get across was this wobbly log.

I let Saoirse lead the way, as she seemed more accustomed to crossing oceans of lava.

The log was slippery and burning under us, so I had to be careful of my footing so that I wouldn't fall in.

After we crossed the lava sea, we walked through ancient ruins and barren deserts before we came to a little grove of trees perfect for climbing.

Saoirse and I climbed up so high in the trees, we felt like the queens of the world!

After that, it started getting cold, so we thought it best to refrain from any more adventure and go back inside.
I love having friends come over! I'm still a bit shaken up about the situation with Deirdre and Saoirse, though. I wonder what the story behind that is. What do you think happened? Has anything dramatic like that ever happened to you? Do you like to have friends over?

Saoirse's Visit, Part 1: Saoirse's Arrival

Hey everyone! This week we had Friday off, so we had a long weekend! I figured this long weekend would be a good excuse to spend some quality time with friends, so I invited Saoirse and some of her time-traveling buddies over.

Saoirse and her friends had to do a little walking to get to the Midcoast MTTB. Sometimes, the time machines don't drop you off at exactly the right place, and you're left somewhere having to walk to your destination.

Lucky for them, they didn't land too far away.

Before long, they were right where they needed to be.

Saoirse climbed right up onto the porch and waltzed right in.

They came in rather quietly, as nobody heard them at first.

Everyone was chatting quietly or piddling around.

Saoirse came closer and excitedly called out, "Dia duit, Dani!!!"

I turned, surprised to hear her. When someone arrives by time machine, you never know quite when they are actually going to arrive, which is a bit ironic if you ask me.

"SAOIRSE!" I squealed, running to greet her.

I gave Saoirse a big hug. I haven't seen her since this last summer!

Saoirse stepped back and gestured to the two friends she had brought with her. I had heard about them them on her blog, but I had not yet met them in person, so this was our first formal introduction.

"This is Caroline," Saoirse said.
"Pleased to meet you," Caroline said as she dropped into a little curtsy.

"And this is Julie." Saoirse said, rather sourly.
In return, Julie gave a rather sour expression.

After inviting them to take their coats off, I introduced Saoirse to our new girl.
"There she is, over there," I said, motioning towards Deirdre, who has befriended Lilly.

They turned to us and Lilly smiled and waved.
"Hey Saoirse! Nice to see you again!" She exclaimed.

We stepped a bit closer.

Saoirse, this is Deirdre, Deirdre, this...is..." I stopped.

Deirdre stepped closer to Saoirse, her face twisting into a scowl that could make the paint peel off a wall.

For a moment, I was utterly confused. Then, realization hit me. I stared at Deidre, my mouth hanging open.

I turned and stared at Saoirse, mouth still wide open. Could it be? I wondered.

Deirdre was still glowering at Saoirse, but took a step back.

Deirdre gave Saoirse the dirtiest of looks, and glared at her with the utmost hate and resentment.

Saoirse was paler than a ghost, and stared blankly back at Deirdre.

Deirdre lowered her glare and glowered at the ground a moment before taking a few steps back, and running out.

Saoirse stared after her, as did I, dumbfounded. Lilly looked back at us, confused and upset.

We all stood that way for a moment, watching Deirdre run out the door.
"Deirdre, wait!" Lilly said.

Lilly ran after Deirdre, and right out the door.

I turned to the extremely pale Saoirse, unable to comprehend.
"Saoirse, what happened?" I asked, stupefied.
She slowly turned to me, eyes glistening and body shivering.
Not quite meeting my gaze, she barely whispered...
"Deirde, Dani. Deirdre is my cousin."
