Time Traveling Friends!

In my last post, I said I was going to tell you how I knew people from other times. Well, in a nutshell, they are time travelers. My mom's friend works at a branch of the Maine 2012 time-landing base, and so I meet the girls that come through. Some girls are all-out time travelers, while others only travel from their times to 2012. The girls that land at this station are Molly, Emily, Nicki, Laughing Spirit, Lilly, Stephanie, and Kaely. Here are pictures and info for all of them!

                                                         This is Laughing Spirit.

This is Laughing Spirit Laughing Spirit is from 1764. She is a Penobscot Native American. In the corner of the picture is her doll, which her sister Singing Bird (not pictured) is holding.

This is Molly.

Molly is from 1944. She is living in America during the second world war. In the picture with her is her dog, Bennett, named after her English friend Emily who is staying with her.

This is Emily.

Emily is from 1944 as well. She is from England, but is staying with Molly and her family because of the war. In the picture, she is with her dog Yank, named after the American friends she has made.

This is Nicki.

Nicki is from Colorado in 2007. She lives on a ranch that raises pigs. She also has a horse named Jackson, and is training a dog named Sprocket to be a service dog.

This is Lilly.

Lilly is a time traveler. She is from 1904, but has been time traveling for about 20 years. She doesn't age, though; when you are traveling through time you don't age, they've found. Lilly doesn't have any pets, but she has a lot of different clothes, from all the different times she's been to. Although, she mainly sticks to times between the 18th and early 20th centuries.

This is Stephanie.

Stephanie is from my present time (2012). She is on the same time schedule as I am. Her dog, Sparkles, is in the picture with her.

This is Kaely.

Kaely is from my present time (2012) too. She is also blind.  Even though she can't see,  she still functions like a normal person, and really isn't that different. She's really nice, too. My mom's friend (the one I live with) is working on getting a rescue dog to train as a seeing eye dog for her. :)

Those are all the girls that land at this station. All of them are so nice; I'm so glad I've met them. Who are your friends? Do you know anybody from different times?

Memorial Day!

Happy Memorial Day! Thanks to everyone who has served our country and/or lost their lives doing so. Your sacrifice to us will always be appreciated. As a celebration of sorts, I went outside for a cookout picnic with my friend Nicki. Nicki is from Colorado in 2007, but she is visting Maine in 2012. I know quite a few people from different time periods...but that is a story for another day. Anyway, I went on a picnic with my awesome friend Nicki, and we had tons of fun. We didn't eat that much; we just sat on our blanket and chatted. We each brought our dogs, too. I brought all of my dogs (Argos, Munich, and Saturn), and she brought her dog, Sprocket, who she's training to be a service dog. Isn't that cool? Here are some pictures!

This is Nicki and me resting with all of our dogs. Saturn decided to get cuddly and sleep on top of   my tummy. Isn't he silly? :)

This one is of Nicki and me just chatting. Sprocket is sitting in Nicki's lap. Isn't he cute?

Here, we are swinging (obviously)! Swinging is so much fun. It feels like you're flying! Sometimes, I wish I had wings. But the more I think about it, the less practical it seems... :)

Nicki and I had a great day. Nicki is so nice, and we both really like dogs. It was a great way to spend my Memorial Day. How was your Memorial Day? What did you do?

My next post will probably be about how I know so many people from different times. Stay tuned to find out! This has been Dani, dabbling with picnics on Memorial Day. Over and out!

The First Soccer Game of the Season!

I love to play soccer, as most of you know. In the spring and summer, I do a soccer camp, and am on a less competitive team. Today, I had a game! This was our first game of the season. Before now, we were just practicing (and goofing around a little).
Here is a picture of me my mom's friend took before the game. She made me pose with my soccer ball. She says she's going to put it in my memory book later.

As soon as the game started, I went for the ball.

I'm not usually that assertive, but my coaches told me that if I want to get good, I need to start running towards the ball.

I had the ball all to myself. Quickly, I pulled my foot back...

and kicked it as hard as I could!

I scored a goal!
I went for the ball again, but this time the other team was careful not to let me get it.

The other girl had the ball. I tried to get it away from her, but she was really good.

I tried to get the ball away from her, but I was too late. Speedily, she kicked the ball...

and into the goal it went.

The score was 2-3 (our team having the 2), so it was a close game. Even though it would have been nice to win, I still had fun. I love soccer no matter who or where I'm playing. What is your favorite sport? Do you have any friends who play the sport as well? At first, I didn't have any friends who played soccer, but once I joined camps and the school team, I made a lot of new friends.

My First Post!

Hi everybody! I'm so excited to FINALLY have a blog...sometimes creating accounts places can be so confusing. Anyway, I guess I'll tell you a little bit about myself. Well, my name is Dani Nakamura-Olsen, and I'm half Japanese and half American. I'm from New York City, but moved to Maine when I was 8 to live with my mom's friend. My mom's friend fosters dogs and a bunch of other animals, which is pretty cool. We have 3 pet dogs, too. One is a Bouvier des Flandres named Argos. The other one is an Australian Shepherd named Saturn. The last one is a miniature schnauzer named Munich. I also love to play soccer. I play on the school team in the fall, and do soccer camps in the spring and summer. In the winter I go skiing or snowboarding. Here is a picture of me!
This picture was taken during a picnic I went on with my friend Nicki. The dog right next to me is Argos. You can also kind of see Munich's ears, right near Argos' mouth.
I'm so excited to have a blog! Do you have a blog? What are your favorite things? I'd love to know!
That's all for now, I'll post again real soon. Dani Nakamura-Olsen, over and out. :)
