The Beach!

Hey guys! Today it was REALLY hot outside...almost 100 degrees fahrenheit, and humid! So, what's the best thing to do on a super-hot summer day? Go to the beach, of course! We went to Reid State Park.

Here I am posing in the sand for the camera.
The knit tube thing I'm wearing is my swimsuit cover-up. It fell down a little while I was playing! (It's supposed to be worn up higher, like a sleeveless dress.) I didn't go swimming, even though it was hot enough to!

Skye (my mom's friend) took this picture of me while I was sitting in one of the beach chairs reading American Girl Magazine.

We didn't get many other pictures of me; we didn't want to get the camera all sandy, and I didn't want to stop playing every 30 seconds to have my picture taken.

Here are just some pictures of the beach I took while I was sitting in the beach chair.

It's funny, this picture looks lopsided from the rock in the corner...
But really it's just the rock that's tilted!

I had so much fun today at the beach. We might go again tomorrow, but probably not to Reid. If we do, I'll post photos of that adventure! What was your day like today? Was it super hot? Have you been to the beach at all this summer? Leave a comment below, I'd love to know! (Ooh, I just rhymed a little!)

An Exploration Adventure!

Today, it was so nice outside! I decided that it was just right for some exploring.

I packed my bag with everything I would need for my trip.
There's a flashlight for if I encounter any tunnels or caves, two cookies for when I get hungry, and two dog biscuits for when I get really hungry, and my cookies are all gone. Haha, I'm just kidding. The dog biscuits are for luring any wild animals away if I'm ever in danger.

This is just the bag. Don't you love the zebra print? ;)

I also brought along my sidekick (and Pokemon), Eevee. He fits right into my pocket!

I was all packed up, and Eevee and I were ready to embark on our adventure.

I turned and began to walk across the expanse of grass and into the spine-tingling depths of the forest.

After a while, I came to a HUGE tree.
I looked up at it until I couldn't bend my back any further. It was THAT big!
This is what I saw.

When I was done gazing, I continued my exploration of the forest.

I walked for a little while longer before I came to this mysterious fort/castle.

I rested against one of the beams supporting the thing, and got a good look at it.

I decided that it would be a good place for me and Eevee to go have a snack break and explore a little more. As I walked closer, I saw that the only ways up were a rope and a cliff! Since the rope didn't look too safe and I had a bag to carry, I decided the rocky cliff was my best chance of getting into the fort.
I began the treacherous climb up the steep cliff.

I was nearly to the top!

Once I was inside the fort, I looked around and checked everything out to make sure I wasn't going to fall through the floor or something. You never know.
These spaces between the wooden boards were almost big enough for me to climb through!

I found a good looking spot for Eevee and myself, and sat down.

I reached over to my bag to get out the cookies I had brought.

I took out the cookies, and Eevee and I ate.

When we were all done eating, I put Eevee back into my pocket and got up.

I spotted a ladder of sorts on the wall, and decided to go check that out.

I climbed up the little ladder.

Once I was on the top, I saw a tunnel that was long and dark and windy.

I decided that this was the perfect time to use my flashlight!

Not only was the tunnel long and dark and windy, it was also really dirty.
I wasn't going to be exploring THAT anytime soon.

I felt that it was about time I headed back home.
So I climbed down the little ladder...
...and looked for a way out.

I spotted what looked like a slide, and thought that that might be fun.

But upon a closer inspection, the steeper and creepier it looked.
Not to mention it was probably unstable and crawling with bugs and spiders.

Since this slide was out of the question, as well as the rope, and I had no clue where the tunnel I had investigated earlier would lead me, it seemed the safest option was to climb back down the rocky cliffs.

I made it down, and began the hike back to the base.

Finally, I had made it home again.
Thanks for following me on my adventure!

What did you do today? Have you ever been on an adventure? What was it like? I'd love to know!

Saoirse's Visit/Happy Father's Day!

Hey guys! Sorry I haven't posted in so long; these past few weeks have been really busy! On Saturday, my new friend (and fellow blogger) Saoirse slept over! You can go read and follow her blog here! I didn't take many pictures while she was here, but this is one I took of us together right before she went home again.
We had a great time; we watched a movie called Thomas and the Magic Railroad, which made little to no sense and was pretty funny. It wasn't supposed to be like that, though. Saoirse's friends Kaya and Josefina also watched the movie and slept over too. I think we all had fun!

Sunday, of course, was Father's Day! I celebrated with my mom's friend (Skye) and her dad. After Saoirse, Kaya, and Josefina went home, we went to Winslow Park where some of Skye's family was camping for the weekend. It was right by the ocean, but was WAY to cold to swim, even though it's the middle of June!

This is me posing at their campsite.

Here's the view from their campsite! Isn't it amazing?
The green down by the water is all seaweed. I've always thought seaweed was pretty nasty, but my little brother loves to walk in it and throw it at me!

I went with Skye and her cousins to play on the playground. There was an awesome pirate ship to play on.

Here I am on the bottom deck of the ship.
There was a fireman's pole that went from the top deck to the bottom. There were ladders and a slide too.

In this picture, I'm looking out a window on the bottom deck.

I decided to go scout out the top deck.
I'm on the top part of the prow, I think, here.

When we went back to the campsite, we roasted hot dogs over the fire. After that, we roasted marshmallows and made s'mores! I didn't take any pictures then because I was busy eating, and my fingers were really sticky.

After our long day, Skye and I finally went back to the base and got ready for bed. All that fresh air and playground playing had made us really tired!

In other news, I have my own Facebook page now! You can visit and "like" it here! I love having more fans!
Well, a happy belated Fathers day to you all! Did you do anything exciting to celebrate? What are your plans for the rest of the summer? I'd love to hear about them!

My Humble Abode~A Tour

It rained all weekend, and it was rainy again today. I'm getting stir-crazy! So, since I couldn't go outside, I decided that I would give you a tour of my dwelling. So, here it is!

This is one of the Maine 2012 bases, the one my mom's friend works at. If you haven't already, you can read all about it in my post about my friends. Here is where we all sleep.

This is where I sleep.
There are all my stuffies, too. The purple blanket my mom's friend made. She knit the entire thing herself!

Here is my "anime corner". I really like anime and manga.

Here are all my figures.
I'm not sure who the figures of the people are at the top. I saw them at a yard sale, and thought they were cool, so I got them. Turtwig is all the way on the right. He is a Pokèmon, along with the critters in the middle row; (from right to left) Psyduck, Pikachu, Eevee, and Snorlax. I love Pokèmon so much. The bottom row are kawaii foods and other things I made out of polymer clay. The things are (from left to right) a teacup with a teabag, an orange popsicle, a cupcake, a mushroom, a lightbulb, and two peas in a pod. Making things out of clay is really fun.

Here is a poster that I drew.
The people are characters from an idea I had for a manga called "Moon Chasers".

That's the tour of my quarters! What do you have in your room? What's your favorite thing about it?

Rain, Rain, Go Away...Let Me Have a Summer Day!

Today was really rainy, so I couldn't go outside to play. Instead, I decided to look through my collection of stuff I've picked up at the beach to get me in a more summer-y mood!

I picked up the box from the top of the dresser.

Opened it, and sat down on my bed.

These are the odds and ends I've collected.

This is the sea glass. I love to find sea glass; it's a wonderful surprise to have while you're walking along the beach.

Here are all of the shells. Shells are pretty common on the beaches I go to, so I tend to only pick up the ones I like best.

Here it is...my favorite thing I've found so far.
It has to be all wrapped up so that it doesn't break.

It's...A SAND DOLLAR!

When I found it, I was so excited. Normally, you don't find whole sand dollars, but rather bits and pieces. So, this was a brilliant find!

I love going to the beach. I hope it stops raining and gets nice really soon so that I can go again! Do you like going to the beach? What do you do when you go there?
